Markverkstad Boden is a department within the Army Staff, with approximately 180 employees. We operate in Boden, Luleå, Arvidsjaur, Vidsel, Umeå, Östersund, and Sollefteå.
We perform maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground equipment and deliver technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of inspection, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scraping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and equipment investigation.
Main responsibilities
As an optics technician, you will primarily work with maintenance and repairs on optics and optronic materials. This includes everything from troubleshooting, cleaning, component replacement, soldering, functional testing, to documentation of completed work. This takes place on-site at our workshop in Boden, as well as on some occasions at other locations.
Internal training during working hours will take place, both on-site and at other training locations.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- You have at least a two- or three-year upper secondary education with a focus on technology, or other education/competence acquired through professional experience that the employer considers equivalent.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.
- General computer skills.
- Category B driver's license.

MERITORIOUS
- Experience with maintenance of optics or precision mechanics.
- Previous experience in a technical role within the Swedish Armed Forces.
- Forklift license, C and CE driver's licenses.

Employment type: Permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period.
Level of employment: Full-time, daytime – varying working hours may apply.
Work location: Boden.
Start date: As soon as possible after agreement.
The work also involves requirements for travel and duty, both domestic and international. The position is a civilian post.
Work with hardening plastics occurs at the workplace, which requires health checks.
