RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Information Security Coordinator at Vårgårda Municipality, you play a central role in protecting the municipality's information assets.

You will lead, coordinate, develop, and follow up on Vårgårda Municipality's systematic information security and data protection work in collaboration with the Security Manager and others within the municipality.

You are responsible for interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, and directives, and for developing, implementing, and maintaining strategic documents and guidelines. The role also includes working with the classification, handling, and protection of information classified for security protection, as well as handling information security incidents.

You work closely with the operations and function as an advisor, coordinator, and knowledge disseminator within information security.

You will be an important part of the crisis preparedness work by adding an information security perspective to tasks such as risk and vulnerability analyses, security protection, and continuity management. You design and conduct training and information campaigns, and contribute to developing the municipality's processes and working methods in this area. You also follow developments in information security and report relevant observations to management, in close collaboration with other colleagues in the unit.

You drive the information and data protection work forward together with the operations and serve as the contact person for the Data Protection Officers.

Since the position is located within the Support and Service Unit, other duties may also occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

• Relevant academic education in information or IT security, systems science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• High security awareness and understanding of the risks and vulnerabilities a municipality may be exposed to.
• Good computer skills and express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Security clearance, including register check, in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585), will be conducted prior to employment as the position is security classified.

The following are meritorious:

• Relevant education in security protection, for example from the Swedish Security Service, the Civil Contingencies Agency, the Swedish Armed Forces, or the Swedish Defence University.
• Experience in risk analysis, incident handling, and policy documents.
• Experience in leading projects and investigations.
• Experience in work within the security protection field.
• Experience in data protection work.
• Experience in cyber security work.
• Experience in information security work.
• Experience in municipal or public sector operations.
