Lekeberg is located right between the offerings of the big city and the idyll of the countryside! We want to be an attractive employer where employee engagement and leadership are characterized by participation and opportunities to influence. We strive to be an efficient, sustainable, and secure municipality for our residents and employees.
Positive development and future investments characterize Lekeberg, and we are steering towards new and exciting challenges! Do you want to be part of the journey? Read more about our municipality at www.lekeberg.se (http://www.lekeberg.se).
The Community Planning Administration is a new administration with approximately 90 employees, encompassing the departments of Technical and Service, Culture and Leisure, the Public Health Unit, and the newly formed Building and Environment Department. From January 1, 2027, the municipality will take over the building and environmental operations in-house, which means we are now building a new operation with a strong focus on service, accessibility, and lawful authority enforcement.
Some positions are security classified, so a security clearance interview may also become part of the recruitment process. For some positions, we require an extract from the criminal record register and presentation of a B-driver's license. Valid identification must be presented if you are called for an interview.
We have actively chosen our recruitment channels and therefore decline direct contact with recruitment and staffing agencies as well as advertising sales representatives in connection with this recruitment.
3 positions.
Do you want to help build a new environmental operation from the ground up?
We are now looking for three environmental inspectors who wish to contribute to developing and shaping the municipality's new Building and Environment Department. With us, service, accessibility, and advisory support are in focus – we want it to be easy to do the right thing in Lekeberg Municipality.
The three positions will have different main areas of responsibility within food inspection, environmental inspection, and health protection. At the same time, you will work closely with each other and support each other across operational boundaries to create a flexible and well-functioning operation.
This is an outward-facing role with many contact points, where dialogue, service, and good treatment are central. You play an important role in the meeting with both business owners and citizens and contribute to finding solutions within the framework of legislation.
Tasks
As an environmental inspector, you work with supervision, control, advisory support, and case processing within your area of responsibility. You play an important role in ensuring that legislation is followed while providing support and guidance to operators and residents.
The assignment includes, for example:
- Planning and conducting supervisory and control visits.
- Processing cases according to the Environmental Code, food legislation, and other relevant legislation.
- Giving advice, information, and guidance to business owners and citizens.
- Making decisions and preparing statements and other authority documents.
- Collaborating with colleagues, authorities, and other actors.
The role involves many contacts and requires you to work actively with dialogue, guidance, and accessibility in meetings with those who live and operate in the municipality.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- Suitable academic education in environmental and health protection, environmental science, or other post-secondary education that the employer considers relevant.
- Good knowledge of the Environmental Code and the Administrative Procedure Act.
- Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- B-driver's license.
Experience and Knowledge
We would like you to have:
- Experience of supervisory work or authority enforcement.
- Experience of working in public operations.
- Experience within food inspection, environmental inspection, or health protection.
- Experience of working in Ecos.
Furthermore, we want you to be a structured and independent person with good teamwork skills. You thrive in a role with many contact points and have a genuine interest in service, dialogue, and customer service.
You have the ability to give good advice and guidance while also being able to set clear demands when the situation requires it. You are confident in the authority role and can make well-founded decisions in a professional and legally secure manner.
Since the work is based on close collaboration with citizens, business owners, and colleagues, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You create trusting relationships and can explain complex issues in a clear, pedagogical, and accessible way.
Our Offer
We offer you a developmental assignment to grow together with us at Lekeberg Municipality. As an employee with us, you are offered for this role the opportunity for modern, hybrid working methods in the form of flexibility between working on-site in Fjugesta and remote work.
- A varied and meaningful assignment.
- Opportunity to help build a completely new operation.
- A workplace where collaboration, trust, and engagement are valued.
- Close collaboration with engaged colleagues.
- Competence development.
- Wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK per year.
- Opportunity for holiday exchange.
Do you want to contribute to an environmental operation that is perceived as professional, accessible, and solution-oriented?
We warmly welcome your application!
