Make a difference as a Housing Support Worker at Sörmland City Mission's shelter for women in Eskilstuna!
Sörmland City Mission operates Eskilstuna's only shelter for women, offering both a warm bed for the night and long-term support initiatives. The shelter is a safe environment that gives guests the opportunity to recover, enabling them to take the necessary steps to find a sustainable way out of homelessness. We are open every night, year-round. We are currently looking for a new employee who, together with the existing staff, wants to fight for those who are fighting for themselves.
As a Housing Support Worker, you work evenings and nights at the shelter, which serves those experiencing homelessness. The goal of our social work is to create a trusting community, simplify and increase access to various forms of societal support and interventions, and create forums for participant influence and self-determination. Many of the people we meet are also dealing with long-term unemployment, addiction issues, loneliness, mental health problems, and/or other forms of social exclusion.
The emergency accommodation offers: - A warm bed - Access to shower and laundry facilities - Clothing exchange - Dinner and breakfast - Community and conversation - Support and further assistance
We are a safe and stable work group that works closely together and provides support in daily life. In addition to the emergency shelter, Sörmland City Mission runs an Open Meeting Place, City Mission Health, a Food Centre, and "Housing First" in Eskilstuna.
