Hudiksvall Municipality, Technical Administration

Within Hudiksvall Municipality's waste management operations, approximately 60 experienced employees are currently working with operations, maintenance, and development. We work in accordance with applicable laws and regulations with a focus on the environment and the circular economy.

We have recently started implementing our new collection system, "Närsorterat" (Near Sorting), and combine this with a contractor collecting bin waste for residents who still have the old system. Soon, we will handle all collection and processing ourselves using our own vehicles.

A lot is happening within the operations right now, and we are facing constant change.

Job Responsibilities

You will, together with other employees, collect residual waste, food waste, and packaging using our new vehicles, including side-loading and rear-loading garbage trucks with multiple compartments. Sometimes there are two employees on a route, and sometimes you drive alone.

We will have a new, modern vehicle fleet, and the vehicles are equipped with computers/tablets where you report deviations and mis-sorting.

To reduce the amount of waste and maintain high quality in collected materials, a behavioral change in society is needed. Therefore, handling deviations at customer sites and contacting customer service are important tasks in your work.

You are responsible for the vehicle you handle for the day and maintain it according to our procedures.

Other tasks required within the operations may also occur, such as ramp work, machine operation, or other activities that may take place at a recycling center.

The work may involve varying working hours, but usually Monday – Friday, regardless of holidays.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is:

• Punctual for work

A requirement is that you have at least a Class C driving license and a valid YKB (Professional Driver Certificate).

About the Administration

We sweep streets, plow roads, and build new infrastructure as Hudiksvall's urban areas grow. We ensure parks bloom and make sure the food waste you sort becomes biogas for cars and fertilizer for our fields. We cook nutritious meals for our children, young people, and elderly – every day. We are responsible for maps and GIS so society can develop. We ensure there is clean water in your tap and in nature, and that our students get to and from school safely with school buses. We manage properties such as nursing homes, schools, swimming pools, and sports halls – and keep them clean and nice. Together, we are the Technical Administration – part of Hudiksvall Municipality.
