Do you want to combine preventive work with operational leadership within Ljungby Rescue Services? Become our new Fire Engineer/Fire Inspector!

At Ljungby Rescue Services, we work every day for a safe and secure society. We are facing a change where two experienced employees are retiring. This means that you, as a new starter, will have an important role in both taking over existing work and helping to develop the operations forward.

We are now looking for a Fire Engineer/Fire Inspector who wants to work on accident prevention while contributing to our operational activities. We work closely together, and we are looking for you who want to contribute to our team. This means we value collaboration, but also have drive and can work independently. You also have the ability to engage others, contribute with a cheerful mood, and create a positive work climate.

The position is located in the accident prevention unit. Our mandate spans broadly across issues related to rescue services and authority enforcement, as well as crime prevention and a heart-friendly municipality.

The job responsibilities will include among other things:

• Work with supervision and authority enforcement according to LSO and LBE.
• Process permits for flammable and explosive goods.
• Participate in community planning and building processes through handling referrals.

Depending on your experience and interest, there is also an opportunity to work with other issues such as internal projects, etc.

As part of the position, you also contribute to developing our working methods and strengthening leadership within the organization. We would like you to take an active role in change and development work.

Depending on suitability, there is an opportunity to combine the position with home standby as an incident commander/regional incident commander, as well as as a standby official (TiB) for Ljungby Municipality. Here you will get a varied and meaningful role with the possibility to be both strategic and operational.

Opportunities for remote work exist for a few days per week upon agreement.

This position involves conducting an enhanced background check and a requirement to provide extracts from the criminal record register. The position implies automatic war-time placement in Ljungby Municipality.

Qualifications

For applicants as a Fire Engineer, we see that you have advanced training in rescue services (RUB) or have a rescue leader training from MCF/MSB/Rescue Services and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent.

If you are applying for the role of Fire Inspector, you have a background that the employer deems relevant for the position. Within accident prevention work, this means, for example: Protection against Accidents (SMO), Supervision and other preventive activities A (Supervision A), Supervision and other preventive activities B (Supervision B). Within operational duty, this means Leadership Course 2 (LK2) or equivalent.

Driver's License Category B is a requirement.

You have good computer skills in relevant operational systems and good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

• Are confident in your leadership and clear in your communication.

Previous work within the accident prevention area is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have knowledge within risk management, community planning, or crisis preparedness. For operational duty, the Regional Incident Commander course is meritorious.
