Operating Room Assistant for Meliva Gyn and Operation Nacka!

The Workplace

Meliva Gyn and Operation Nacka operates both a clinic and day surgery facilities. Here, gynecologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, operating room assistants, and a receptionist work together. We work as a team but also independently within our respective areas of responsibility and profession.

About the Job

We are currently looking for an Operating Room Assistant for our surgical department, which consists of one operating room and ten recovery beds. We perform procedures ranging from minor vaginal interventions to prolapse repairs and TVT procedures, which do not require the specialist expertise and equipment of a university hospital. We are a small group that supports and works closely with each other. As an Operating Room Assistant, you will work both in the operating room and on the pre- and post-operative wards.

Your main responsibilities include standard tasks in an operating and recovery department. On the recovery ward, you work together with our nurse: you prepare patients pre-operatively and care for them post-operatively with monitoring, serving coffee/snacks, etc. In the operating room, you work alongside the scrub nurse, preparing surgeries, opening sterile packages, and managing equipment, etc.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Instrument care – washing, packing, and sterilization.
  • Assisting the gynecologist together with our other assistant during minor surgeries under local anesthesia.
  • Unpacking supplies.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a certified Operating Room Assistant (skyddad yrkestitel).
  • Has experience from an operating room environment.
  • Is service-oriented, solution-focused, and has a professional attitude.
  • Thrives on taking responsibility and contributes to a good work climate.

We place great importance on personal suitability as we are a small team that works closely together.

Merits:

  • Experience from pre- and post-operative wards.
  • Specialized training in surgery for operating room assistants.
