Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility across the globe, connecting cities as we reduce carbon emissions and replace cars.

Are you our new Production Engineer for the Central Sweden area?

Your future role

Take the chance to accept a new challenge and use your engineering expertise in sustainable transport! You will work in close collaboration with an engaged team of engineers, planners, and technicians to ensure optimal flows for promised maintenance delivery.

In your daily work, you will collaborate with production and technical teams as well as functions such as procurement and warehousing in Gävle and other locations in the Nordics. You will also interact with customers and suppliers to ensure that production carries out its work in an efficient, safe, ergonomic, and sustainable manner with clear instructions. You will be responsible for ensuring that all industrial tools, instructions, working methods, and continuous improvements thereof are in place, which is crucial for the project's success.

Your workplace will be at our depot in Gävle, but the role includes travel, primarily to Västerås and Stockholm.

In the role, you will:

  • Prepare upcoming work by creating instructions, standard operating procedures, material lists, and competency requirements to continuously optimize the production learning curve.
  • Analyze data and flows in executed work to propose improvements that maximize production efficiency.
  • Define and develop standardized working methods.
  • Own our industrial processes and instructions within the Vehicle Maintenance area for Central Sweden.
  • Drive and participate in improvement and optimization projects within production engineering.
  • Create and improve workflows in our business systems using lean production as an approach.
  • Manage and define tools, production aids, and other critical production equipment.

About you:

We value passion and attitude over experience. That is why we do not expect you to have all the skills. Instead, we have listed some that we believe will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A university degree in mechanical engineering, industrial economics, or similar. Alternatively, several years of work experience in production engineering or related fields involving practical handling of technical processes, preferably within the railway industry or related sectors.
  • Knowledge and experience in production engineering: writing and improving maintenance instructions, standard flows, value stream mapping, Lean Production, as well as procurement and optimization of production tools.
  • Familiarity with industrial master data management (preferably with SAP).
  • Fluent in Swedish and English.

To succeed in the role, you need to:

  • Be structured, meaning identifying and prioritizing tasks and driving them forward in an organized manner.
  • Engage others to achieve common goals and inspire your colleagues.
  • Convey complex information in an understandable way to facilitate collaboration and ensure everyone is on the same page regarding workflows and guidelines.
  • Be a strong communicator with excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills to create clear instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate effortlessly in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, so submit your application today.

Please note that feedback may only be provided after the summer holiday period.

What you will like:

  • Join us on a lifelong transformative journey – the railway industry is here to stay, giving you opportunities to grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career.
  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous routines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and helpful colleagues.
  • Contribute to innovative projects and develop within the company.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning.
  • You will receive market-competitive employment terms, pension, and insurance.

You do not need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you will be proud. If you are ready for the challenge, we would love to hear from you!
