Maintenance Engineer for Mälarbanan – Contribute to Future Rail Maintenance

As a Maintenance Engineer on the Mälar Line (Mälarbanan), you will contribute to a safe and stable railway system and the development of future rail maintenance. We welcome your application!

Responsibilities

One of Trafikverket's current development initiatives is the establishment of own development platforms aimed at creating conditions for increased learning and more efficient maintenance. The development platforms have different focus areas, and one of the platforms is dedicated to corrective and preventive maintenance of the Mälar Line (MB).

As a maintenance engineer, you will work together with your colleagues in the project team to ensure the maintenance of the railway infrastructure and follow up on ordered maintenance measures. You contribute your technical expertise in track engineering and serve as a crucial resource by being out in the field to monitor the condition of the infrastructure. You are a central part of the team's collection of data for improvement proposals and will lead development activities within your area.

The production manager, project engineer, maintenance engineers, contracted consultants, and contractors work together to deliver a safe and accessible railway infrastructure that meets society's needs for travel and transport on the MB.

The position is located in Västerås.

You are an engaged team player who builds trust. You are self-reliant, proactive, structured, and quality-conscious in your tasks, and you have strong analytical skills.

We are looking for someone who has

• a high school education in technology or another educational background combined with work experience that we consider equivalent
• current and relevant experience working with railways and track engineering
• good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• a valid driver's license for passenger cars

The following are meritorious

• experience of project management and systematic follow-up work against contractual requirements
• knowledge of contract law
• experience and knowledge of BAS-P/BAS-U
