At the Eye Clinic, we see patients with virtually all types of eye diseases, which we diagnose and treat at the clinic. We provide both outpatient and inpatient care, consisting of clinics, operating departments, care beds at other clinics, as well as an eye center. We provide county healthcare to residents in the central and western parts of Östergötland, and highly specialized care to patients from Jönköping, Kalmar, and Östergötland County.

Job Description

As a new employee, you will receive an individual introduction with good opportunities for further development and variation. The day surgery care is conducted from the pre- and post-operative departments, and most of our newly operated patients can go home the same day after a few hours of monitoring on the eye operation department. We have close cooperation with surgical and anesthesia staff, and patients come up to the pre- and post-operative departments directly after the operation. Sedated patients are monitored in our post-operative recovery room for about an hour.

In the evenings and on Saturdays (except Sundays), we also receive acute eye patients who need to see the on-call doctor. In addition to working on the Eye Clinic's pre- and post-operative departments, you will also be introduced to working in areas such as PolOp (outpatient operations) and IVT (intravitreal injection), where you work in a team with nurses/doctors.

The pre- and post-operative department is open Monday to Friday from 07:00–19:00 and Saturdays from 07:00–17:00. Operations take place between 07:00–17:00, with on-call duty on Saturdays and Sundays from 07:00–19:00.

About You

You are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care. Experience in pre- and post-operative care or inpatient care is meritorious. We would appreciate it if you had previous experience working in the Cosmic system. Since you will communicate with patients, relatives, colleagues, and in some cases authorities, it is a requirement that you have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing.

We are looking for someone who collaborates well with others, listens, is receptive to the other party, and adapts to the situation. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively and take responsibility for your tasks.

You use your knowledge, skills, and abilities in patient encounters or care situations.
