The emergency department in Norrköping is open around the clock for patients with medical, surgical, and orthopedic conditions. The emergency department handles patients with acute serious illnesses and injuries requiring immediate care. We receive approximately 52,000 patients annually, averaging about 140 per day. Job Description

At the emergency department, we handle patients with acute orthopedic, medical, and surgical conditions. We are co-located with the pediatric emergency room and emergency radiology, with whom we also have close collaboration. Based on your and the operation's needs, we regularly offer internal as well as external competence-enhancing training.

Teamwork is an important part of caring for seriously ill patients. As an assistant nurse, you handle patients in a team together with nurses and doctors. Here, we work for a borderless collaboration across all professional categories. The work is varied with sometimes a high pace. Examples of common tasks include caring for the acutely ill patient, taking samples, assisting doctors and nurses.

Work Group

We currently have about 170 employees at the department consisting of doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, and care administrators.

About You

We are looking for you who are a trained assistant nurse with a focus on emergency care. Previous experience in inpatient care and previous experience from emergency care is highly meritorious. We place great importance on personal suitability. Introduction is offered according to a structure where we take into account your previous experience.

As a person, you are secure, adaptable to different situations, and have good collaboration skills. You thrive being part of a cross-professional team where all professional categories learn from each other, but it is also important that you can work independently. Medical technology is no obstacle for you. It is a given that you contribute with a positive and professional attitude in your work. You have a humble attitude and an ethical approach to your surroundings. It is also of great importance that you can focus and prioritize in stressful situations. Since the work involves documentation and contact with colleagues, patients, and relatives, it is important that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language.

Application and Employment

Temporary position 100% for 12 months with possible extension. We apply day, evening, and night rotation shifts. At the emergency department, we have a working time model that can generate a working time reduction to 34 hours/week.
