At Grimsta School, every student should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential, and the school should be the best school for every student attending it. Therefore, we are looking for a school psychologist with a strong commitment to making a difference. Grimsta School is a grades F-9 school with approximately 550 students and 110 employees. The school is located near the Grimsta Forest nature reserve, just a few minutes' walk from Vällingby Center with subway access and several bus connections.

The school has a Student Health and Welfare Service (CSU) operation covering grades 1-9, preparatory classes, and special education groups. We have an engaged and well-functioning student health service with all professions working both generally across the different grades and specifically targeting individual students.

The school leadership consists of the principal, four deputy principals, and an administrative manager. The leadership drives the school's systematic quality work together with the student health service, the school's senior lecturer, and lead teacher.

In August 2026, the school will move back into our newly renovated premises, after having been located in St. Jacob's premises in Vällingby for 2.5 years.

Job Description

In the role of school psychologist, you will be an important part of the school's student health team together with the school leadership and other professions within student health. The main task of the student health team is to work health-promoting and preventive to create a school environment that promotes students' learning, development, and health.

As a school psychologist, you are responsible for conducting psychological assessments, diagnostics, and evaluations. You provide advice and suggestions for interventions, follow up and evaluate, and refer for further treatment when necessary.

In addition to direct contact with students, you may also be tasked with supervising and providing consultation to the school's staff in matters where psychological competence is necessary. You assist with your competence in conflict resolution and the school's crisis and disaster management, and provide supervision and support to the school leadership in matters concerning organization, groups, resources, and handling of individual student cases.

As a school psychologist within the City of Stockholm, you are part of a network for the city's school psychologists and have the opportunity for external supervision.

Your Competence and Experience

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and have knowledge and experience of working with children.

You have good knowledge of students with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF), extra adjustments, and special support, with which you can contribute the psychological perspective to the school's student health work.

You have good cooperation both internally and externally and always have the students' best interests in focus. To succeed in the role of school psychologist, you must have very good analytical skills, take initiative, and apply an evidence-based and systematic approach. You can work independently as well as together with colleagues, students, and guardians. You are relationship-building and trustworthy. You contribute with structure, problem analysis, and a holistic view in the salutogenic student health work. You have good insight into group processes and can handle crises and conflicts. You are experienced in keeping journals and documenting. To succeed, you are confident in yourself, your profession, and have the ability to both take charge – and set boundaries.
