Jumkil School is a newly built F-5 school (grades 1-5) with approximately 100 students distributed across 6 classes. The school has an attractive school environment, both in the school facilities and on the schoolyard and surrounding natural areas. The school also has an after-school center (fritidshem) for grades F-5. We focus heavily on preventive work and are part of both the KiVa and well-being programs. KiVa is a values-based work program, and the well-being program promotes play and movement during breaks through structured games led by students with adult supervision.

Jumkil School also works with cooperative learning, a pedagogical method we use in our classrooms. Jumkil and Bälinge schools share a common school leadership and student health team. There is a well-developed collaboration between the schools.

Description of duties

As a teacher in the after-school center, you will be responsible for and contribute to the development of our after-school activities by participating in the development of working methods and pedagogy in the center. This also includes conducting pedagogical activities both indoors and outdoors. You are expected to contribute your pedagogical knowledge based on the compensatory mission of the after-school center, drive pedagogical development, and ensure meaningful content for the students. In addition to your role in the after-school center, you will also teach physical education at the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license with authorization for the after-school center as well as authorization to teach physical education and health. We would appreciate if you have experience working with students with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPD/ADHD/Autism spectrum). Experience in after-school center work and/or physical education teaching is considered an advantage.

You collaborate well with others and build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You are receptive and flexible in your interactions, listen actively, communicate clearly, and handle conflicts in a constructive manner.
