We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing educational activities with a focus on accessibility and goal achievement for all students.
We are looking for someone who is one of the following: Special needs teacher with a focus on developmental disabilities, primary school teacher for younger grades, or preschool teacher with experience working with students with intellectual disabilities.
Together with our student health team and our educators, you will have the opportunity to work in an activity that is based on the needs of all students and offers challenges to all students based on their respective prerequisites.
In Finspång Municipality, adapted primary school is offered for students in grades 1–9 at Nyhemsskolan. We invest heavily in creative learning environments both indoors and outdoors; we have a nice schoolyard with an associated school forest.

Your future tasks
Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for challenging students to learn based on their individual prerequisites. You will teach students in subject areas requiring support, both individually and in groups. You will plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching in close collaboration with student assistants. You will contribute to and participate in the school's development work and supervise employees based on your competence.
You will be part of a work team that works together around the students. The role also requires cooperation with guardians, habilitation services, and in some cases, other authorities.

Mentorship is included in the position, and you will conduct development meetings and participate in network meetings regarding the student.

Who are you?
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with experience and good pedagogical insight. You must have a university education as a special needs teacher with a focus on developmental disabilities, or be a certified primary school teacher for younger grades, or alternatively a preschool teacher. Experience as a special needs teacher or primary school teacher is meritorious.
As a person, you are secure and stable, while simultaneously having a driving and motivating attitude towards your students. You have a positive view of students, based on the belief that all students can and want to learn. You find it easy to collaborate and build relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues. You have the student at the center and take into account the students' different needs and prerequisites.
You should have experience working with students with disabilities and see opportunities for learning in all moments, whether it is a teaching situation in a group or a transition from one aid to another.
Experience working with students who have visual and hearing impairments, as well as high sign language competence, is meritorious.
We would like you to have competence in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and experience with a low-affective approach.
The role requires good ability to communicate and collaborate with many different actors within and outside the activity; therefore, good Swedish is a requirement for the position.
Start date: 2026-08-10 or as agreed.
