About American High School, Uppsala

The school is located centrally in the Luthagen area. The school will enter its fifth academic year this autumn and will have approximately 220 students studying on the Natural Science, Economics, or Social Science programs. The teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching staff with a strong sense of community.

About the role

As a teacher, you will teach our students French. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, assessing, and evaluating your own teaching. You are expected to lead the lessons based on our pedagogical structure, for which you will receive guidance. You will work closely with a dedicated and cohesive teaching team, where collaboration and collegial learning are a natural part of everyday life. You will teach in a digital environment with digital learning materials in combination with traditional literature.

The position is a permanent part-time employment at 30% with an initial probationary period of 6 months. Start date August 3, 2026.

Your profile

For the position, a Swedish teaching license and eligibility to teach French at the upper secondary level are required. It is also highly meritorious if you have experience teaching French at the upper secondary level. You have a strong commitment to teaching and want to contribute to developing the operations together with a strong team of employees, and you share our pedagogical view:
