At the diocesan chancellery, we work for the benefit of the parishes. We create practical and sustainable conditions for being a church today, while simultaneously preparing for the church we wish to see in the future.
Approximately 50 employees work at the diocesan chancellery. The position of Diocesan Deacon for diaconal development work is located within the "Faith and Life" unit, whose 15 employees today have various roles in promoting worship, education, diaconal work, and mission. This covers areas such as recruitment, worship development, church music, baptism and confirmation, Sami church life, pilgrimage, institutional chaplaincy, pastoral care, the young people of the Church of Sweden, and idealism.
Responsibilities
The role includes, among other things, strategically developing and monitoring diaconal work within the diocese, as well as supporting diaconal development work with a particular focus on idealism and the engaged church community. The assignment also involves promoting and strengthening Sami church life in collaboration with parishes and other relevant actors. Furthermore, it includes planning, coordinating, and implementing continuing education initiatives for employees in the diocese's parishes.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who finds it easy to collaborate with others and is skilled at establishing and nurturing professional relationships. Additionally, you have strong pedagogical abilities, while also being adept at analyzing problems and working strategically. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Working hours, workplace:
This is a permanent full-time position located at the diocesan chancellery in Härnösand or at a workplace in Östersund. The main working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of remote work two days a week. Work-related travel may occur, sometimes including overnight stays. Employment start date is by agreement.
