Do you want to work on socially important construction projects and contribute to sustainable development within the defense sector? Fortifications Authority (Fortifikationsverket) is now looking for several Environmental Coordinators for the project support unit of the Projects Department and our environmental group.
We are currently recruiting several Environmental Coordinators for the Projects Department and the Project Support Unit, with placements in Eskilstuna, Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Luleå. As an Environmental Coordinator, you will support our project managers and help ensure that projects set relevant environmental requirements, meet these requirements, and comply with legislation.
Your daily life as an Environmental Coordinator
As an Environmental Coordinator, you provide qualified support to our project managers. Your main task is to ensure that our investment projects meet current environmental requirements and environmental legislation. You coordinate environmental issues across several parallel projects and participate throughout the entire project lifecycle – from design to implementation and follow-up.
You work closely with project managers, consultants, and contractors, as well as in dialogue with supervisory authorities. In this role, you also collaborate with other specialists within Fortifikationsverket. Your responsibilities include, for example:
- Identifying and assessing environmental aspects.
- Reviewing and ensuring documentation prior to environmental assessments.
- Conducting site visits and participating in meetings with consultants and contractors.
- Participating in dialogue and consultations with supervisory authorities.
- Conducting environmental rounds and following up on environmental requirements in projects.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in environmental engineering or environmental science, or equivalent education combined with relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and applying Swedish environmental legislation.
- Practical experience in environmental work, such as environmental investigations, environmental control, and project follow-up.
- Experience working as an Environmental Coordinator, Environmental Coordinator, or in a similar role.
- Class B driver's license.
Merits

About the employment
The position is a permanent employment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be assigned to wartime duties. The place of employment is Eskilstuna, Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Luleå.
