Building Technician – Lock and Alarm Technician

The City Services Administration has an important and exciting mission to deliver, coordinate, and develop services for residents and administrations in the City of Mölndal. The administration has approximately 550 employees and is organized into four business areas; food and local care, water and recycling, city maintenance, as well as staff and customer service.

As a Building Technician, you belong to the Building Technology unit within the City Maintenance business area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a Lock and Alarm Technician. As a Lock and Alarm Technician, you are responsible for the operation, service, and modification of fire alarms, burglar alarms, CCTV (video surveillance), access control systems, and other security equipment, together with object-responsible building technicians.

The role includes responsibility for corrective maintenance through troubleshooting and measures for faults arising in installations. Through proactive and preventive work, you will develop improvement proposals in the area and update and maintain the basis for the maintenance plan regarding the city's alarm and access control systems. You are also responsible for ordering and following up on repairs and contracts within the area.

We are looking for someone who contributes their expert knowledge with engagement, as you are expected to be involved in construction processes with knowledge in the area of alarm and access control systems, as well as the development of the city's alarm system as a whole.

In the role of Alarm Technician, you contribute to increased customer satisfaction through your working method and approach towards property owners, users, and tenants. In the role, you will work with several administrations in the city.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a 2-year University College degree (YH) in the field or an education assessed as equivalent by the employer and/or experience in electricity, control, and regulation. Documented work experience in the field is a requirement as a broad technical background in alarms, installation, and property is a prerequisite for you to handle the role. Experience working with Omnis, Alliera, and Iloq systems or digital key cabinets is meritorious. Experience as a facility operator for fire alarm systems such as Schneider FDP or other similar fire alarm panels is also meritorious.

To succeed in the role, it is important that you have good cooperation skills, are flexible, and responsive in contact with both colleagues, the city's other employees, contractors, and customers. You are driven, engaged, and have the ability to maintain a high service level to our customers and work structured with problem-solving. The role assumes that you can work both independently and in both small and large groups. We see that you have very good computer literacy and are familiar with digital work order management.

A valid B driver's license is a requirement.
