Do you want to work close to the patient in a fast-paced, broad, and team-oriented environment? We are currently establishing a new Acute Care Ward (AVA) with intermediate care beds at Ljungby Hospital — and we are looking for you to join us from the start.

The Acute Care Ward is part of the Acute Clinic, which, together with the county's two emergency departments, forms a central part of the care for acutely ill and injured patients. Nearly 200 dedicated staff members work at the clinic. We are an academic acute clinic with excellent opportunities for learning and development in everyday work.

What is the AVA with Intermediate Care Beds in Ljungby?

The new ward aims to improve patient flow at the hospital and strengthen the care for patients who require more monitoring and treatment than what other medical areas on the hospital can offer.

In the first phase, we will launch the Acute Care Ward starting in week 34. In the next phase, this autumn, we will introduce intermediate care beds on the ward. In total, the ward will then have 16 AVA beds and three intermediate care beds.

At our facility, you will encounter patients with conditions within medicine, surgery, orthopedics, and infections. The lengths of stay are usually short, and the work is characterized by:

• rapid assessments and early decision-making
• close monitoring and follow-up
• close collaboration between professions
• high but structured patient flow

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse, you work closely with the patient. Clinical assessments and prioritization are central parts of the job.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• continuous monitoring and clinical assessments
• planning and coordination of patient care
• close collaboration with doctors and other professions

We are currently seeking nurses who are primarily interested in working with intermediate care patients. However, as a nurse here, you will work with both intermediate care and acute care patients, depending on your competence. For further variation and professional development, there is an opportunity to combine duties with other units at the hospital.

Since this is a new ward, you will receive training before the ward opens, as well as an individualized introduction and a mentor. If you are newly employed by Region Kronoberg, you will also receive a region-wide introduction.

Qualifications

• Working hours: Shift schedule. Rotating shifts according to schedule, working both days, evenings, and nights. You work 2 out of 5 weekends.
