RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Business Developer, you have a broad and varied assignment where you drive environmental and climate issues both within the municipality's organization and in the geographical municipality. You work strategically to develop sustainable plans and policies, while simultaneously carrying out operational measures and coordinating actions.

The role involves close collaboration with politicians, civil servants, the business community, and civil society to strengthen and advance the municipality's environmental and climate work.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

• Leading development processes and strategic environmental work: Develop and implement municipal environmental, climate, and energy plans. Compile and develop the municipality's sustainability report.
• Being an expert and contributing to well-founded decisions: Function as an expert and advisor on environmental and climate issues. Prepare decision support materials for politics on environmental strategic issues. Handle consultations and other matters from internal and external stakeholders.
• Building networks and collaborating with various actors: Maintain dialogue with politicians, administrations, municipal companies, and external parties to advance the municipality's environmental and climate work. Participate in and develop local and regional networks within the environmental and climate field.
• Analyze, monitor, and report on sustainability work: Evaluate and monitor the municipality's environmental goals and strategic initiatives. Produce and present analyses and reports that support the municipality's development in environmental and climate matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a strong commitment to environmental and climate issues and a strategic ability to translate knowledge into concrete actions.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• A university degree in environmental science, biology, urban planning, or another equivalent relevant field.
• Experience working with environmental and climate issues in the public sector, business, or research.
• Ability to work strategically and process-oriented, as well as drive development projects.
• Good ability to collaborate and build networks with various actors, both internally and externally.
• Very good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Good computer skills and experience with the Office suite.
• A valid Category B driver's license is required.

Merits

It is an advantage if you have experience in developing and implementing municipal environmental and climate plans, particularly related to biodiversity, ecosystem services, or nature conservation. Knowledge of legislation and regulations in the environmental field, as well as experience working in a politically governed organization and handling consultations, is also valuable.
