Assistive Devices Västerbotten is a specialist function within the field of assistive devices and interpretation services. Our mission is to support customers in their work to meet the needs of assistive device users and to provide interpretation services to those who need them. We operate throughout the county and are represented in Umeå, Skellefteå, and Lycksele. The assistive device operations are revenue-funded through agreements with municipalities and internal customers.
This position is part of the Service Department. One of our most important tasks is to refurbish and reuse assistive devices to reduce our environmental impact, as well as to reduce costs for our customers. We place great emphasis on creating a health-promoting workplace. We offer a wellness allowance or alternatively one wellness hour per week.

As an Assistive Technology Technician with us, you provide essential service and enable interventions that impact many people.
Through your work and expertise, our assistive device users receive the devices and technical adaptations they specifically need in their daily lives. With us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure. In your daily work, you handle service, maintenance, delivery, and refurbishment of various medical technical assistive devices, e.g., wheelchairs, patient lifts, hygiene aids, beds, and walking aids. This may involve heavy lifting on some occasions. You document your work in accordance with current legislation and our procedures.
Together with colleagues and other professional groups, you will be part of a service team where you sometimes work close to assistive device users on behalf of prescribers to provide optimal service. Collaboration and communication are important, as you may encounter people in vulnerable situations in this work.
Your main workplace is Umeå, but county-wide assignments during the day may occur. With us, you can grow, and depending on your competence, certain tasks may occur to varying degrees and within different assistive device product areas. The operations are financed through revenue, where you play an important role as your interventions are billed to the customer via your documentation.
We are looking for you who have completed a secondary technical education with a focus on mechanics or electronics, or alternatively, experience deemed equivalent. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. Previous work within assistive device operations or with medical technical products is meritorious. Experience from working with technical service and maintenance is also meritorious. For this job, you need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, have good knowledge of English, as well as good computer skills and knowledge of the Office package. A B-class driver's license is a requirement.
You have a good ability to collaborate, both with your colleagues, prescribers, and assistive device users. You are flexible and receptive in your approach to work and have the ability to adapt your interaction based on the situation you are in and the individual you meet. We constantly work to become even better, and through your business- and customer orientation, you are a very important part of that work. Through your commitment and teamwork, you contribute to a positive work climate.
