Electrician Maritime Electric & Automation – Ålesund, Norway

About the Role

We are currently seeking several electricians from Skåne who wish to gain experience in onshore and offshore operations within oil, gas, and energy, with the goal of becoming maritime electricians.

Our client is based in Ålesund, Norway. The company is an established player in maritime service, working with service, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of electrical and automated systems on both new and existing vessels. In this role, you will work with troubleshooting, repairs, conversions, installations, testing, and commissioning of marine systems. The work takes place both onboard vessels and at customer sites, implying varying workdays and opportunities for travel both within Norway and internationally.

Job Description

• Service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical and automated vessel systems
• Installation, conversion, and upgrading of marine electrical systems
• Testing, commissioning, and startup of equipment
• Repair and preventive maintenance on vessels and marine facilities
• Documentation according to current standards and procedures
• Collaboration with customers, project managers, and other technicians

We are looking for someone who has:

• ECY or other electrical qualifications
• Experience in service, troubleshooting, and installation
• Good technical understanding and ability to work independently
• Valid driver's license (Category B)
• Good knowledge of Swedish or Norwegian as well as English
• Ability to build good customer relationships

Meritorious:

• Experience from maritime operations or vessel systems
• Experience with automation and control systems
• Previous work with commissioning and startup
• Experience with traveling service work
