We are looking for a Design Manager for an authority within the transport sector.

This is a consulting assignment. The location is Stockholm.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork skills.

The Assignment

We are looking for an experienced Signaling Design Manager who is responsible for leading and coordinating signaling design across several railway projects. The role covers work throughout the entire project lifecycle – from planning and design to production, commissioning, and handover – with a focus on signaling systems, ATC installations, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate signaling design within multiple projects and phases.
• Develop operating scenarios, requirement specifications, risk analyses, and design basis documents.
• Ensure system and construction design as well as correct signaling drawings.
• Be responsible for coordinating documentation related to signaling design.
• Act as an expert in relay-based interlockings 59.
• Act as an expert in the geographical design of signaling installations.
• Participate in planning, design, production, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Support signaling-related projects within several track and light rail systems.

Requirements (Mandatory)

• At least a 3-year relevant technical university degree OR acquired experience by working in the railway sector for at least twelve years.
• At least eight years of experience working as a Signaling/ATC Designer within the last twelve years.
• At least four years of experience working as a Lead Designer/Technical Manager/Design Manager Signaling/ATC within the last eight years.
• At least three years of design experience with relay-based interlocking 59 within the last twelve years.
• At least two years of experience designing axle counting systems within the last twelve years.
• At least two years of experience designing tonal frequency track circuits within the last twelve years.
• At least two years of experience designing signaling installations at depots within the last twelve years.
• Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Qualifications (Meritorious)

• At least four years of experience working within investment projects in the railway sector within the last eight years.
• Experience working with at least two different suppliers' signaling systems/ATC for railways within the last eight years.
• At least two years of experience designing the ACM200 axle counting system within the last twelve years.
• At least two years of experience designing the Zub222c ATC system within the last twelve years.
