Being part of the Storgöteborg Rescue Service means being part of something greater than yourself. We consider it a privilege to be someone others can rely on. Someone who never gives up, who is always ready at a moment's notice. We are a brave organization that takes care of each other. We are the first to enter to solve the problem and the last to leave to secure the scene. Ultimately, everything we do is about creating a safer society. This commitment permeates our entire organization and creates an unparalleled feeling of being needed.
Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for you who want to work as a Fire Safety Inspector and contribute to a safer society through a meaningful assignment. In the Community Protection department, we work with advisory services and conduct inspections to prevent fires and increase safety. As a Fire Safety Inspector, you are part of this work where your contribution makes a difference.
The Rescue Service's mission is to create a safer society, where your work plays a central role. It is a responsible assignment, and we value quality over quantity. We work actively to ensure effective fire safety in buildings in and around Gothenburg. To succeed in this, we use modern digital tools and follow developments closely. Technology is advancing rapidly, so we would appreciate it if you have an interest in digitalization and are quick to adapt to new systems and working methods.
This is a flexible role where you spend a lot of time out in the field. We are looking for a person who has a professional approach in their interactions and a problem-solving attitude.
In this role, you will
- Conduct and document fire safety inspections, e.g., flues, chimneys, and large kitchens
- Use digital solutions to ensure fire safety in buildings
- Collaborate with the team to develop and improve working methods and processes
- Provide advice and support to customers and colleagues
- Actively participate in our continuous improvement work
Qualifications
- Education as a Chimney Sweep Technician
- Category B driver's license
Meritorious if you have
- Experience with fire safety inspections
- Good digital skills and competence
- Interest and experience in legal or technical matters
To succeed in this role, you need to be receptive, flexible, and team-oriented. You are careful, structured, and take responsibility for your tasks. You thrive in contact with both customers and colleagues, have a pedagogical approach, and enjoy solving problems. Your quality awareness and willingness to contribute positively to the operations make you an important part of the team.
What we offer you
With us, you get a flexible work environment where camaraderie and commitment to a safer society are at the center. Here you get the opportunity to grow both as an individual and in collaboration with others. We offer flextime to give you a good balance between work and private life, as well as physical activity during working hours.
Other Information
Employment with the Storgöteborg Rescue Service may involve placement in a security classification. A security clearance with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment is made. For some of our positions placed in security classification, Swedish citizenship is also required.
Your employment includes war-time placement with the Storgöteborg Rescue Service with general service duty, which means you are obliged to serve in the event of heightened readiness or war.
Before employment, alcohol and drug tests will be conducted according to the organization's policy and in cooperation with our occupational health services.
