Do you want to work on creating pleasant and attractive outdoor environments in Vetlanda Municipality? We are now looking for a Gardener for the park unit at the Technical Office.

As a Gardener, you work with the operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's green spaces. You play a key role in preserving and developing the municipality's green structure and contributing to sustainable and well-maintained outdoor environments that are appreciated by the residents.

In your role, you have special responsibility for operations in central Vetlanda. You contribute your knowledge to issues concerning the maintenance, development, and design of outdoor environments, and serve as a support to the unit manager and landscape architect. The work is largely independent, and you plan your workday based on operational needs while collaborating closely with colleagues.

The work is varied and takes place throughout the year. During the winter months, it includes snow removal and anti-icing work.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• maintaining and caring for parks and green areas, as well as other tasks within park operations
• ordering plants, planting, caring for, and developing flower beds, perennials, and flower plantings, as well as growing flowers in your own greenhouse
• pruning trees, shrubs, and hedges, and participating in nature conservation work
• working on new plantings and the design of outdoor environments

Qualifications

• Post-secondary horticultural education or equivalent competence that we assess as equivalent
• Good knowledge of plants and experience with green space maintenance
• Experience using gardening machinery
• Driver's license with at least category B

Merits

• Category BE or B96 driver's license
• Chainsaw and brush cutter training
• Computer literacy
• Wheelbarrow license
• Scissor lift training and chainsaw operation from a scissor lift

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, Start date: 2026-09-01 (Start September 1st, or by agreement). Selection and interviews are held continuously.
