We are now hiring a Cook for Meals and Facility Care at the Municipality of Lidköping

About the job

Service Meals and Facility Care is the Municipality of Lidköping’s organization responsible for all meals in preschools, schools, upper secondary schools, and elderly care, as well as all facility cleaning within the municipality’s operations.

In total, we prepare approximately 9,500 portions per day and clean nearly 250,000 square meters distributed throughout the entire municipality. We have a total of approximately 220 employees.

As a cook at Tolsjöhemmet, you have the opportunity to make a difference every day for those living in the nursing home and those visiting the meeting place. In this position, you are offered great opportunities to influence and develop both the daily work in the kitchen and within our entire organization by participating in various development and working groups.

The Municipality of Lidköping views the meal as an important and natural part of the day that contributes to both joy and energy.

Responsibilities

As a cook, you are responsible for the kitchen operations, such as planning, cooking, and serving good and nutritious food according to our guidelines, as well as self-control, dishwashing, cleaning, development, and follow-up.

You work to create a pleasant workplace and collaborate with other staff in the operations to create well-being and comfort for our guests through the meal. In your role as a cook, you may also receive interns and apprentices as needed.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a three-year upper secondary education, a large kitchen and cook education, or equivalent experience, and at least five years of experience working as a cook. You have good knowledge of various special diets.

If you have experience working in large kitchens in the public sector, we consider this an asset. Experience with various digital systems related to kitchens and meals is also considered an asset, as increased digitalization is one of the municipality's goals. We use systems such as Matilda diet data system, digital self-control, and RainDance.

You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.

You have a valid driver's license (Category B).

We want you to be service-oriented and stress-resistant, with good collaboration and communication skills. You should be able to perform your tasks independently, take initiative, and be flexible, but also delegate when necessary to involve your colleagues. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Other information

The position is currently as a cook with the main placement in the kitchen at Tolsjöhemmet, but your employment is within the entire Meals and Facility Care organization.

The employment is permanent, and you work every other weekend.

Extract from the Criminal Record

Before being offered a position, you as a candidate are required to present an extract from the criminal record when working in any of the following areas: school or preschool, work with children in activities other than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), work in or in connection with HVB homes (Hem för vård eller boende), or work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police's website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
