Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is big. Contributing to societal development is even bigger. With us, you get to do both. We are now looking for a Project Manager for our construction operations in and around Kalmar. At Svevia, we combine the small company's sense of community and team spirit with the stability of a large corporation. Here you have the opportunity to develop and develop others as a road specialist - with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.

Your role as Project Manager

As a Project Manager with us at the Construction division, you will among other things be responsible for:

  • Planning, leading, and executing projects based on Svevia's goals and values.
  • Managing project budgets and economics, ensuring forecast routines are followed.
  • Handling contractual matters with the customer.
  • Participating in the bidding process, as well as assessing and managing risks and opportunities.
  • Actively contributing to the management group within the foreman's area.

The role also involves personnel responsibility for an organizational unit within the foreman's area. As a manager and leader at Svevia, you are responsible for leading, driving, and developing both operations and employees in line with the company's strategy, goals, and values.

In this role, you will report to the Foreman/Construction Manager.

Who are you?

You enjoy business and environmental scanning, and have developed strong leadership skills through your experience in leadership roles. For us, this means among other things that you always put the work environment, business, and profitability at the center while bringing everyone in the team along with you.

Leadership is important to us. We believe in a developmental leadership style where you, as a leader, bring out the best in the team and contribute to building a strong and healthy project team.

Good communication skills in written and spoken Swedish, computer literacy, and a valid driver's license (Class B) are considered prerequisites.

In addition to your personal qualities, you have good prerequisites for succeeding in a Project Manager role with us if you have experience in the following:

  • Active and structured work with occupational health and safety issues and safe behaviors.
  • Road and construction projects in a leading position with personnel and/or budget responsibility.
  • Cost estimation and bidding work in construction projects.
  • Nurturing and developing customer relationships.
  • Building teams and working with recruitment.

As a foundation, we believe you have a technical university degree in civil engineering or equivalent.

Part of something bigger

Within our construction operations, we build Sweden from the ground up – in concrete, steel, wood, stone, and earth. We do this by constructing roads, bridges, quays, and concrete structures for industry, the state, and municipalities. Additionally, we break new ground and pave the way for water and sewer networks, wind power parks, and development areas. We also have specialized units within foundation work and soil remediation. Together with Svevia's other operations in road maintenance and paving, you become an important cog in a larger societal machine. This opens up new opportunities for innovation and problem-solving.

Why Svevia?

Based on Svevia's strategies, goals, and values, you get the prerequisites needed to make a difference and contribute to the company's development. Decision-making paths are short, it is easy to influence and have your voice heard. And with us, leadership is in focus, which means you continuously get the opportunity to develop in your role.

We care about being a workplace for everyone. Leading through your employees is seen as a matter of course. It is as a team that we create success. This is how we do business and generate results. This is how we make cities and the countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?

Application and information

You apply easily by sending in your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competency-based approach, which is a prerequisite for recruiting in a quality-assured, inclusive, and bias-free manner. Therefore, we do not want a cover letter.

Please submit your application by September 7th. Selection will take place on an ongoing basis.
