Job Responsibilities

In the role of Heavy Truck Mechanic for our client in Norrköping, you will work with the service, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy vehicles and transport vehicles. You will perform both planned maintenance and emergency repairs, replace components, carry out diagnostics using the workshop's diagnostic systems, and test and document completed work.

You collaborate daily with colleagues in the workshop, workshop management, and the spare parts department to ensure fast and correct actions. The role also involves contact with customers to explain completed work and time estimates, as well as reporting deviations and improvement suggestions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Service and repair of heavy trucks and trailers
  • Troubleshooting with diagnostic tools and mechanical/electrical problem solving
  • Replacement of parts and components as well as installation of accessories
  • Inspection tests and test drives after completed work
  • Documentation of work in systems and reporting to the responsible technician/manager
  • Collaboration with spare parts and customers to ensure deliveries

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is technically knowledgeable, meticulous, and solution-oriented. You thrive in a workshop environment where speed and quality go hand in hand. You work in a structured manner, have a good ability to prioritize and collaborate with colleagues, and communicate clearly with customers.

We prefer that you have some experience working with heavy vehicles or equivalent education. Experience with modern diagnostic systems, air brake systems, and electronic control systems is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Vocational education in vehicle or transport technology or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with heavy trucks is an advantage
  • Knowledge of diagnostics and troubleshooting on modern vehicles
  • Category B driver's license required; Category C is an advantage
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing; English is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

About the Position

The position is located with the client in Norrköping. Scope and working hours as agreed, full-time preferred. Start date as agreed. You will be employed as a consultant via Fordonsakademin.
