The Pediatric Care area in Norrbotten is a county clinic belonging to the Division of Medicine and Emergency Care. Here, the specialties of pediatric medicine and pediatric habilitation work closely together, and extensive collaboration is also conducted with child and adolescent psychiatry as well as other healthcare partners within and outside Region Norrbotten. Close collaboration also takes place with all municipalities in Norrbotten. The largest pediatric activities are located at Gällivare and Sunderby hospitals, where the county's inpatient care is provided. Pediatric outpatient services are available in addition to Gällivare and Sunderbyn in Piteå, Kalix, and Kiruna, and all locations except Kiruna also offer pediatric and adolescent habilitation.

The operations in Gällivare have just over 50 employees with a wide range of competencies. The operations are mainly located in Gällivare, but a smaller clinic is located in Kiruna. The catchment area is small in terms of population but large in area. Due to the long distances, a multifaceted operation is conducted where almost all patient categories are taken care of. On the physician side, we currently have three senior consultants and one specialist doctor in Gällivare.

We are looking for

We are now looking for you who are a specialist in pediatric and adolescent medicine. Meritorious is experience in the profession, on-call competence, and/or research experience. Knowledge of the medical record systems VAS and Cosmic as well as language skills in minority languages can also be meritorious. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities. As a person, you value and see the benefit of collaboration with others. You make correct assessments and prioritizations. You take responsibility for your task and see the big picture, considering the broader perspective.

This is what you will work with

The pediatric ward in Gällivare has eight care beds where children up to 18 years of age are treated, and neonatal care from 32 weeks of gestational age. We conduct standard pediatric outpatient services as well as activities within pediatric habilitation. We have good cooperation with other pediatric care in Norrbotten and well-functioning national and regional contacts. The clinic and hospital are characterized by the short decision paths and family atmosphere of a small hospital.

Within Pediatric Medicine, we currently have three experienced senior consultants and one specialist doctor, as well as several recurring locum physicians.

Since the clinic has a small population base combined with large geographical distances to the next level of care, there is a great responsibility in being able to handle emergency care for a variety of conditions.

Information about the position

We offer you a permanent position on a full-time or part-time basis according to agreement. Working hours: daytime and scheduled on-call duty outside office hours. Start date according to agreement. Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreement.
