With us, you will have an important role in the daily life of the preschool. As a caretaker, you ensure that our premises and outdoor areas are safe, well-maintained, and functioning as they should – something that is of great significance for both the children's sense of security and the quality of the operation. The work is varied and independent, ranging from practical repairs and maintenance to contact with property owners and support in matters concerning the environment and safety. You will become a valued part of our team and have the opportunity to make a concrete difference every day in an operation that truly matters.

Your new job

You work across several different preschools, which makes the position both varied and dynamic. Our 18 preschools differ in size, layout, and needs, but what they have in common is that they are operations where children, educators, and guardians move around daily, and where the environment needs to be safe, secure, and well-functioning.

The work involves moving between different units and encountering both older and newer facilities, varying yard environments, and different types of practical challenges. At some preschools, the focus is on ongoing maintenance and minor repairs, while at others, it may be about addressing issues that affect the work environment, functionality, or safety. The outdoor areas are an important part of the operation and can include everything from play areas and fences to storage rooms, loading areas, and seating furniture that need to be inspected and kept in good condition.

Therefore, the position suits you if you thrive in a mobile daily life, adapt easily to different environments, and enjoy solving practical problems as they arise.

You work closely with principals and other staff, and need to be able to make assessments, prioritize between different assignments, and contribute to ensuring that each preschool functions as well as possible in daily operations.

Your profile

You have a upper secondary education, preferably with a focus on property, technology, construction, or similar, and experience in property maintenance, upkeep, or practical service work. A B-driver's license and your own car are required, as well as knowledge in areas such as basic electrical work, plumbing, ventilation, fire safety, and work environment. Experience from working in preschool or school is an advantage, as the role requires an understanding of how the physical environment affects children's safety, security, and learning.

To thrive and succeed in the assignment, you need to be structured and meticulous, with the ability to keep order with materials, keys, storage, and safety routines. You also need to be confident in working both independently and in close collaboration with educators, meal assistants, cooks, management, and external actors.

We particularly value that you have a calm and stable approach, see the big picture in the operation, and contribute to a positive work environment. You understand the importance of creating a safe, accessible, and well-maintained environment where children and adults can stay and develop in the best possible way.

Before employment, you will need to provide a certificate from the Swedish Police Authority (extract from the criminal record).
