The County Administrative Board is a driving force for a sustainable society. We work together with authorities, municipalities, businesses, and other actors, focusing on Västra Götaland County and its 1.7 million inhabitants. The County Administrative Board has a broad range of activities and plays a very important role in several areas of society. This includes, not least, the highly current challenges of regional growth, implementing the green transition, developing civil defence, and nurturing democracy.
The County Administrative Board is a regional state authority with approximately 1,000 pleasant and competent employees. We operate in several locations in Västra Götaland, as well as elsewhere in Sweden, as we are responsible for IT operations for all County Administrative Boards.
About the Job
We are looking for 4–6 civilian motorcycle resources (CMR) for the External Handling Unit within the Civil Defence and Preparedness Department.
The employment is fixed-term and activated as needed. This may occur, for example, during a serious societal disruption affecting large parts of the county. Working hours may vary and are determined by the current need. We sign an agreement regarding a time frame within which you may be offered assignments. You are employed only during the assignment, provided you accept the specific assignment. The CMR assignment can be combined with other employment.
CMR personnel should contribute to enhancing the County Administrative Board's ability to handle societal disruptions, for example, by relaying various types of messages or transporting materials or persons as needed.
Your main tasks will include:
- Relaying messages
- Contributing to situation awareness
- Transporting materials/persons
The External Handling Unit plays a crucial role in the County Administrative Board's preparedness work, responsible for developing the authority's handling of incidents in collaboration with external actors in the county. The unit develops the County Administrative Board's preparedness organization to handle various types of societal disruptions in both peacetime and high alert.
About You
We are looking for someone who is calm, stable, and composed under pressure. You can follow through on and complete given assignments, solve unexpected situations, and quickly adapt to changing circumstances. You collaborate with others by being attentive, listening, communicating, and resolving conflicts constructively.
Personal qualities are important to us, and it is natural for you to act based on the Swedish Government's Values – State Audit Office and contribute to a good work climate.
Requirements:
- Category A driver's license
- Completion of the CMR Basic Course
- Verified competence and good references from a local voluntary motorcycle club (FMCK)
- You are an active motorcycle rider
- You must be able to navigate using a map and compass and handle the Rakel radio system
- You have a maximum commute time of two hours to the County Administrative Board's office in Gothenburg or Vänersborg from your home
- Finally, a genuine interest in civil cooperation and willingness to stand ready year-round, under all conditions and terrains
We would like you to have:
- Good physical fitness, as there may be long and demanding shifts under difficult conditions
- Completion of the CMR Refresher Training
- Participation in some exercise or operation as a CMR
