What you can expect from the role

As a Department Manager, you are responsible for one of the store's departments, such as Cars/Motorcycles/Car Care, Building/Tools, or Leisure/Boats/Home/Office/Technology. This means you are the extended arm of the management team in the operations. The responsibility involves ensuring that the department is always well-maintained, sales-oriented, and customer-ready with well-stocked and inviting shelves. You create inspiring seasonal displays, suggest products for end-caps, and drive cross-selling. Order and tidiness are core values, and in this role, you ensure that signage and references are clear and correct. You are also responsible for the department's inventory.

An important part of your role is to motivate and engage your colleagues and share your knowledge of the department's products. Together with your colleagues, you stock shelves and coach them to provide Biltema's customers with the best possible service. You are a team player who values close collaboration with other department managers, where you gladly exchange ideas and experiences. We appreciate that you have a special passion for your product areas and care about a safe environment for both customers and colleagues.

The position is a permanent employment starting with a 6-month probation period. The employment is full-time, 38.25 hours/week, with varying working hours including evenings and weekends.

We are looking for someone who has worked in retail for a few years and wants to take the next step in sales. You are a dedicated service-oriented person who puts the customer first. As a person, you enjoy taking responsibility and initiative and have a knack for sales. For you, it is natural to go the extra mile to achieve results. You also have an eye for sales-oriented displays and efficient product placement. Challenges motivate you, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where new perspectives are sought.

It is important that you have an interest in Biltema's range and product areas. Personal suitability will be heavily weighted; as a manager, you must be communicative in both Swedish and English and possess the ability to convey goals and the path to them to your colleagues. Therefore, previous leadership experience is also meritorious.
