The County Administrative Board is a driving force for a sustainable society. We work together with authorities, municipalities, businesses, and other actors with a focus on Västra Götaland County and its 1.7 million inhabitants. The County Administrative Board has a broad scope of operations and plays a very important role in several areas of society. This includes, not least, the highly current challenges of regional growth, implementing the green transition, developing civil defence, and nurturing democracy.
The County Administrative Board is a regional state authority with approximately 1,000 pleasant and competent employees. We operate in several locations in Västra Götaland, as well as elsewhere in Sweden, as we are responsible for the IT operations for all County Administrative Boards.
About the Job
We are looking for 4-6 civilian motorcycle resources (CMR) for the External Handling Unit within the Civil Defence and Preparedness Department.
The employment is fixed-term and activated as needed. This may be the case, for example, during a serious societal disruption affecting large parts of the county. Working hours may vary and are determined by the current need. We sign an agreement on a framework period within which you may be offered assignments. You are employed only during the assignment, provided you accept the specific assignment. The CMR assignment can be combined with other employment.
CMRs should contribute to enhancing the County Administrative Board's ability to handle societal disruptions, for example by conveying messages of various kinds or transporting materials or persons as needed.
Your main tasks will be:
- Conveying messages
- Contributing to gathering situational awareness
- Transporting materials/persons
The External Handling Unit plays an important role in the County Administrative Board's preparedness work and is responsible, among other things, for developing the authority's handling of incidents in collaboration with external actors in the county. The unit develops the County Administrative Board's preparedness organization to handle various types of societal disruptions in both peacetime and heightened readiness.
About You
We are looking for someone who is calm, stable, and controlled in pressured situations. You can follow through and complete given assignments, solve unexpected situations, and quickly adapt to changed circumstances. You collaborate with others by being receptive, listening, communicating, and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.

Requirements:
- Category A driver's license
- You have completed the CMR Basic Course
- Documented competence and good references from a local voluntary motorcycle club (FMCK)
- You are an active motorcycle rider
- You must be able to navigate using a map and compass and handle the Rakel radio system
- You have a maximum commute time of two hours to the County Administrative Board's offices in Gothenburg or Vänersborg from your home
- Last but not least, a genuine interest in civil cooperation and willingness to stand by year-round, under all conditions and on all terrains
We would appreciate if you have:
- Good physical fitness, as there may be long and demanding shifts under difficult conditions
- Completed the CMR Refresher Training
- Participated in some exercise or operation as a CMR
