We are looking for you who are driven and unpretentious with a great interest in elderly care and who want to help develop our operations to new levels. As an activation pedagogue, you are the engine for creating a meaningful everyday life based on a salutogenic mindset, where the focus is on health-promoting factors and well-being.

The meeting point consists of a work group with activation pedagogues who are responsible for planning and executing activities at care and housing facilities in Kungälv Municipality. Our operations have a health-promoting and preventive orientation and constantly aim to develop our activities based on the needs and wishes of the elderly. Collaboration takes place with activity coordinators who are present at each care and housing facility. Right now, we are looking for you who want to make a difference.

Responsibilities

With us, you are offered an exciting and developmental role as an activation pedagogue within care and housing facilities. No two days are alike. The main task is to be responsible for the activities at the elderly care home and to ensure that the range of activities offered is well adapted to the tenants' needs and wishes. The guiding star is a salutogenic and rehabilitative approach where the individual's abilities are utilized and health is highlighted. Our operations are under constant development and change based on the needs of the elderly.

Working hours are mainly Monday–Friday 08:00–16:30, but may vary depending on planned activities. Flexible agreements apply.

Your responsibilities include:

• Jointly planning and implementing an equal range of activities and events at the municipality's care and housing facilities together with your team.
• Having overall responsibility for the range of activities at care and housing facilities and, based on the tenants' interest, finding out which activities they desire.
• Coordinating activities at care and housing facilities both in groups and individually.
• Supporting and collaborating with the activity coordinators at the care and housing facilities in their planning and work.
• Actively marketing the activities.
• Ensuring that the common areas at the facility are inviting and reflect the seasons.
• Building good relationships and collaborating with various actors such as associations, volunteers, artists, home care services, and other operations in the municipality.
• Evaluating activities together with the tenants, documenting, and keeping statistics on the activities.

In the future, your assignment may also include applying for, leading, coordinating, and reporting on project funds.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Educated activation pedagogue (Vocational Higher Education) or equivalent as assessed by the employer.
• Driver's license.
• Good knowledge of documentation and supervision, and comfortable using a computer as a work tool.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language.

Merits:

• Previous experience as an activation pedagogue/activity coordinator and having participated in planning and developing working methods regarding activities.
• Experience within elderly care.
• Good knowledge of dementia.
• Previous experience in project management.
• Previous experience in handling state funds.

Personal qualities we are looking for are that you are unpretentious and reflective in your approach to work. You possess good communication and collaboration skills and have good physical fitness as the work can sometimes be physically demanding.

You structure your work and drive processes in groups, but also independently. You are flexible, creative, and have a pedagogical approach to work. You are an initiative-taking person who sees the whole picture in the operations and you are a good team player who actively invites others to collaborate. You take great responsibility in your profession and show judgment and respect. We also see that you have the ability to contribute to a positive and good climate in the workplace.
