About the Role

The news hunt is the foundation of all journalism at NWT. Our editorial team is news-leading in Värmland, and our goal is to always be first with the latest developments. As a breaking reporter here, every day is a new match to win. The coverage area is Värmland, and the topics vary widely: accidents, fires, weather chaos, entertainment profiles, political decisions, and more.

The target audience is clear: we aim to engage more people under 40 in Värmland with our journalism. As a breaking reporter, you enjoy the mix of fast news reporting and sharp follow-ups. You are comfortable with live reporting. You are also given some opportunity to regularly produce in-depth journalism.

You will work closely with colleagues on the breaking desk, our news desk, and other colleagues. On the editorial team, you will have just over 40 skilled and friendly colleagues. The schedule includes morning, evening, and weekend shifts.

About You

You are an established journalist who is motivated by winning the daily news race.

You have a strong interest in society and good judgment. You have strong personal drive, but you are also a good team player who enjoys bouncing ideas, texts, and headlines off your colleagues.

You know which topics and angles attract readers, and you like to package and present your work digitally and market it via our social media channels.

You know how to find and deliver news on TikTok or Instagram. You have a valid driver's license.

The positions are temporary, starting in August through New Year's in the first phase. The possibility of extension is good. The workplace is NWT's headquarters in Karlstad.
