Drottning Blankas Gymnasieskola in Halmstad was founded in 1996 and offers vocational and university-preparatory education in Economics, Social Studies, Care and Nursing, and the Crafts Program. We are now looking for an engaged school librarian for our operations.

Your Mission

We are now offering a 20% position as a school librarian starting in August 2026.

In this role, you are responsible for developing and running the school library as a pedagogical resource for students and staff. You work to promote reading, information seeking, source criticism, and students' language development. The assignment involves planning and implementing activities that strengthen the joy of reading and contribute to students' learning, in close collaboration with the school's teachers and student health services.

You are also responsible for the library's media, lending systems, and the daily operations of the library.

Your Profile

At our school, both quality and good relationships are important in everything we do. We are therefore looking for you who have a strong commitment to young people's learning, reading, and education.

You are a trained librarian or have other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent. Experience working in a school library or with young people is meritorious.

As a person, you are proactive, structured, and independent. You easily build relationships and collaborate with both students and colleagues. You see the library as a natural part of the school's pedagogical work and want to help develop the operations together with us.
