Welcome to a modern university library that delivers quality services and information resources for higher education and research. At the university library, 17 people work, distributed across three teams – Team Information Supply, Team Support for Learning, and Team Support for Researchers.

Job Description

Over the past few years, the University College of Halmstad has undertaken significant development work on how learning support is designed. As a librarian with a focus on pedagogy, you will be part of the Team Support for Learning, working alongside librarians, language advisors, and ICT pedagogues. You will also collaborate with other support functions at the University College. The goal is to build integrated support within the University College's various study programs in close collaboration with program coordinators, with a clear focus on progression.

Your tasks will include teaching and advising in information searching, reference management, and source criticism. Developing various forms of digital teaching materials is also part of the role, as well as staffing both physical and digital help desks, and supporting students with reading and writing difficulties who need adapted course literature.

The tasks require you to have initiative, take responsibility, and work independently. At the same time, you will be part of a team where collaboration is essential, and there is a desire to find common strategies and working methods.

You are driven and engaged in continuing to develop the competencies and contexts that the Team Support for Learning is responsible for, in close collaboration with program coordinators, teachers, and students. You are curious about trying new working methods and easily see the benefits of collaboration. The University College offers education in both Swedish and English, so it is important that you are comfortable teaching and advising in both languages.

Qualifications

• Education in Library and Information Science or equivalent education assessed by the University College.
• A degree at least at the bachelor's level.
• Very good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English.
• Experience and interest in working with teaching and/or pedagogical development.
• Interest in digital tools and the opportunities they can offer in the library's pedagogical activities.

Conditions

This is a fixed-term position from September 14, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Individual salary setting applies; please state your salary expectations.
