Job Guarantee for Care Students – Welcome to Örnsköldsvik Municipality!

The job guarantee means that as a care student, you are offered a full-time position as a nursing assistant/caregiver in elderly care or a support assistant in disability support. The job guarantee applies only to students with a degree from the Care and Nursing program at Örnsköldsvik Upper Secondary School.

An expression of interest for the job guarantee must be submitted within ten months after graduation. Employment is subject to a six-month probationary period with the intention of transitioning to a permanent position. If you, as an applicant, decline a job offer, the right to the job guarantee ceases. Placement and start date are determined based on the needs of the operations.

Job Responsibilities

Our operations include:

• Specialized housing (care and nursing housing)
• Ordinary housing (home care, night patrols, and mobile teams)
• LSS housing (housing with special support for adults, housing with special support for children and youth, short-term stays)
• Day activities
• Personal assistance
• Social psychiatry (housing support and service housing)

A job with us is diverse and varies depending on the needs of the different operations. Our work is based on ensuring that our users receive high-quality interventions according to their implementation plans. We focus on individual needs, promote independence, participation, and ensure that interventions are carried out with respect for users' integrity and self-determination, always with a good attitude.

Common tasks include social activation, meal support, shopping, personal hygiene, and medication. Preparation and follow-up of implementation plans, social documentation, and other administrative tasks/responsibilities are also part of the role.

Qualifications

To participate in the job guarantee, the following are required:

• Degree from the Care and Nursing program at Örnsköldsvik Upper Secondary School.
• Your expression of interest must be received within ten months from the graduation date.
• Extract from the criminal record and/or suspicion register for operations where legislation and/or the municipality requires it.
• Legal right to work in Sweden.

Additional requirements for some positions:

• Driver's license category B (ordinary housing)
• Certificate of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare for employment as a nursing assistant

Other Information

During the interview process, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents include a passport, international ID card, driver's license plus a personal certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or other ID documents that strengthen citizenship. For some positions, an extract from the police's suspicion and criminal record register is required.

We appreciate knowledge of Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

In our municipality, some positions are classified for security, so a security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
