The County Administrative Board is a driving force for a sustainable society. We work together with authorities, municipalities, business life, and other actors with a focus on Västra Götaland County and its 1.7 million inhabitants. The County Administrative Board has a broad scope of operations and plays a very important role in several societal areas. This applies especially to the highly current challenges of regional growth, implementing the green transition, developing civil defence, and nurturing democracy.
The County Administrative Board is a regional state authority with approximately 1,000 friendly and competent employees. We have operations in several locations in Västra Götaland, as well as elsewhere in Sweden, as we are responsible for IT operations for all County Administrative Boards.
About the job
We are looking for 4-6 civilian motorcycle resources (CMR) for the External Handling Unit within the Civil Defence and Preparedness Department.
The employment is fixed-term and becomes active when needed. This could be, for example, during a serious societal disruption affecting large parts of the county. Working hours may vary and are determined by the current need. We sign an agreement regarding a time frame within which you may be offered assignments. You are employed only during the assignment, provided you accept the specific assignment. The assignment as a CMR can be combined with other employment.
CMRs should contribute to increasing the County Administrative Board's ability to handle societal disruptions, for example by relaying various types of messages or transporting materials or people when necessary.
Your main tasks will be to:
- Relay messages
- Contribute to gathering situational awareness
- Transport materials/people
The External Handling Unit plays an important role in the County Administrative Board's preparedness work and is responsible, among other things, for developing the authority's handling of incidents in collaboration with external actors in the county. The unit develops the County Administrative Board's preparedness organization to handle various types of societal disruptions in both peacetime and heightened readiness.
About you
We are looking for someone who is calm, stable, and controlled in pressured situations. You can follow through and complete given assignments, solve unexpected situations, and quickly adapt to changed circumstances. You collaborate with others by being receptive, listening, communicating, and resolving conflicts constructively.
Personal qualities are important to us, and it is natural for you to act based on the Governmental Values and contribute to a good work climate.
Requirements:
- Category A driving license
- You have completed the CMR Basic Course
- Documented competence and good references from a local voluntary motorcycle club (FMCK)
- You are an active motorcycle rider
- You must be able to navigate using a map and compass and handle the Rakel radio system
- You have a maximum commute time of two hours to the County Administrative Board's office in Gothenburg or Vänersborg from your home
- Last but not least, a genuine interest in civil cooperation and willingness to stand ready year-round, under all conditions and on all terrains
We would appreciate if you have:
- Good physical fitness, as there may be long and demanding shifts under difficult conditions
- Completed the CMR Refresher Training
- Participated in an exercise or operation as a CMR
