About the HR Department

 

As a School Information Officer, you belong to the HR Department (G1), which is part of the regimental staff at I 21. The HR Department consists of 12 employees with various competencies and focuses, both civilian and military. Our mission is to provide managers with professional and operationally relevant support, both strategically and operationally, through a consultative working method. We work at a high pace, with a strong team spirit and a shared focus on delivering high-quality and appreciated support to managers.

Main Responsibilities

 

As a School Information Officer, you have a dual role between working within G1 and serving as a soldier at the company level. A large part of the job involves meeting students in lower and upper secondary school through lectures where you talk about the Swedish Armed Forces and the opportunities available with us.

You carry out assignments together with a colleague and have support from employees within the department in daily work. Together, you plan and execute activities and meet the target group in various contexts – for example, at schools, educational fairs, events, trial activities, and on social media.

As part of the role, you also serve as a soldier at the company level as a GSS/K (Continuously Serving Soldier). There, you become part of the operations together with officers, specialist officers, and other soldiers. The full-time soldiers work, among other things, as instructors in the training of conscripts together with the company's professional officers. Daily life is characterized by variety, training, development, and readiness.

Qualifications

  • Passed military basic training within the last three years, employable grade/character reference from corresponding GMU/GU or conscription
  • Category B driver's license
  • Good computer skills (Windows, Office)

About the Employment

Type of employment: Fixed-term employment as a continuously serving soldier (GSS/K), 100%, starting with a 6-month probationary period

Work location: Sollefteå

Start date: By agreement

Salary: Individual salary setting

Working hours: (40 hours/week) Mostly scheduled during daytime on weekdays, but scheduled duty at other times may occur. Travel and evening/weekend duty are part of the role.

Other information:

The role includes 3 hours per week of physical training during working hours.

A central basic training to gain knowledge and familiarity with the entire Swedish Armed Forces will be conducted.

Study visits will take place at various branches of the military.

During the year, advanced training and experience sharing will take place with other School Information Officers at central follow-up meetings.

Employment entails the obligation to be war-placed, international duty obligation, participation in training, exercises, and operations.

Information about the Swedish Armed Forces and the recruiting unit: In 2022, the Västernorrland Regiment with the Jämtland Ranger Battalion, I 21, was re-established. A new regiment with centuries-old traditions in Västernorrland and Jämtland. With us, you have the opportunity to be part of something unique, the re-establishment of the infantry in Lower Norrland. I 21 currently operates in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand and is responsible for the Lower Norrland Garrison. At the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion and the Jämtland Ranger Battalion, conscript soldiers are trained for service in the new modern infantry to operate from mountains to sea in a subarctic environment. The Swedish Armed Forces' work is strongly linked to the agency's core values based on openness, results, and responsibility. We see this as particularly important in the current growth considering the external environment, but also for professional development. Personal health is valued and encouraged, as it is required to do a good job defending Sweden. Security clearance with register check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Swedish citizenship is required in most cases to pass this. Employment with the Swedish Armed Forces also includes war placement and an obligation to serve abroad if necessary. The meaning of this varies depending on the type of position.
