Do you want to help develop tomorrow's sustainable waste solutions in one of Sweden's most rapidly expanding municipalities? Are you interested in urban planning, technology, and sustainable solutions, and do you want to grow in a broad role with great variety? Then you might be the person we are looking for!

We are now looking for an engaged vacuum waste system planner who wants to contribute to the development and management of Sundbyberg's vacuum waste operations. Here, you will have the opportunity to work close to the operations and be involved in planning, investigations, and ongoing development work.

About the position

Sundbyberg is growing rapidly, and we are facing several major urban development projects where sustainable waste solutions play a crucial role. As a vacuum waste system planner, you will support the work with planning, development, and management of the company's vacuum waste facilities.

You will work together with experienced colleagues and have the opportunity to gradually develop within the field. The role is broad and varied, involving many interfaces, both internally and externally. You will collaborate with property owners, developers, consultants, and representatives from the city, among others.

You will belong to the Vacuum Waste Unit, where you will work together to develop future sustainable waste solutions in Sundbyberg.

Responsibilities

As a vacuum waste system planner, you will contribute together with the unit to the management and development of the company's vacuum waste facilities.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Participate in the planning and development of future vacuum waste facilities
  • Be involved in creating and updating governing documents within the vacuum waste area, such as guidelines and tariff issues
  • Work on connection agreements and operation agreements with property owners
  • Participate in the renewal planning of existing facilities
  • Contribute to the early stages of the urban planning process together with other colleagues
  • Participate in follow-up, analysis, and business development
  • Lead smaller projects and investigations
  • Respond to official requests and prepare supporting materials
  • Participate in collaboration forums and networks within the vacuum waste area
  • Collaborate with the city, property owners, and other actors on issues related to vacuum waste operations
  • Procure and coordinate external support competencies and consultants as needed

We are looking for you

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

  • Relevant higher education in areas such as urban planning, urban development, environment, technology, or other education that the employer deems equivalent
  • Experience working in urban development, technical infrastructure, waste, or similar operations
  • Good understanding of vacuum waste systems and the issues related to the planning, expansion, and management of vacuum waste facilities
  • Ability to see the big picture in urban development issues while also working operationally with concrete questions and investigations
  • Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Good computer and system skills

It is meritorious if you have experience working in projects, public sector work, as well as experience with vacuum waste systems, waste issues, or other technical infrastructure. We view it positively if you have previously worked in roles with many interfaces and coordination tasks within the urban planning process.

Personal qualities

To thrive in the role, you are self-reliant and take responsibility for your tasks. You structure your own work and drive your processes forward in an efficient manner. Since the role involves handling several different issues in parallel, it is important that you are structured and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively.

You have good teamwork skills and work well with other people. You relate to others in a listening and flexible way and contribute to good collaboration both internally and externally. The role involves many interfaces, so it is also important that you are communicative and can express yourself clearly in both speech and writing.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative, starts activities, and has the desire to develop and learn more in the area. You are quality-conscious and meticulous in your work, and have the ability to analyze and handle issues in a solution-oriented manner.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Our offer

Here, you will work with approximately 50 engaged employees who enjoy working together. We are a smaller municipal company where decision-making paths are short, and you have the opportunity to develop and influence the operations.

For us, a sustainable work environment and a good balance between work and private life are important. We have a work culture where we help and support each other, and we are convinced that a functioning cycle is the key to a sustainable future.

Here, you will have the opportunity to contribute to societal development and help create sustainable solutions for the city of the future.

Application

You apply for the position by sending in your CV and cover letter. We continuously review incoming applications, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.

If you have questions about the position, you are welcome to contact Mari Chmielewski, Unit Manager Vacuum Waste, by phone: 08-518 336 76

A background check will be conducted as part of the recruitment process, and you may be subject to military service registration.

We warmly welcome your application!
