On behalf of our client, we are currently looking for a Senior Construction Manager specializing in vertical shafts and rock engineering for a long-term and socially significant infrastructure project in Stockholm. The position is full-time and is expected to start on 2026-06-15 and run until 2030-06-15, with the possibility of a 5-year extension.
About the assignment
We are now seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager with solid competence in rock and civil engineering contracts related to tunnels, vertical shafts, and underground production.
The assignment is part of a comprehensive infrastructure project in the Stockholm area where new tunnels, stations, and vertical shafts are to be designed and built. The project involves complex rock and civil engineering works with high demands on coordination, safety, production, and technical competence.
In this role, you will work closely with project managers, design managers, contractors, and specialists through the planning, design, and production phases. The focus is on construction management within rock contracting for vertical shafts, stations, and tunnels.
Responsibilities
- Participate in design and the development of technical solutions, method selection, and production planning
- Participate in the preparation and review of tender documents and construction documents
- Monitor contractors regarding technology, time, economy, quality, environment, and working environment
- Be responsible for daily contact with contractors and coordinate production
- Monitor and document Additional Work (ÄTA) and quantity deviations
- Participate in risk management related to, for example, blasting, deep vertical shafts, and work near existing facilities
- Review contractors' quality work, work preparation, and risk analyses
- Participate in construction meetings, design meetings, safety rounds, and inspections
- Ensure that work is carried out according to contracts, permits, and safety requirements
- Collaborate with adjacent contractors and internal project functions

About you
We are looking for you who meet the following mandatory requirements:
- Hold at least a high school education
- At least 12 years of experience in underground production in tunnels or rock chambers within mining, rock, or civil engineering operations
- At least 10 years of experience as a construction manager on the client side within underground production in tunnels or rock chambers
- At least 5 years of experience in a leading role within the production method caisson shaft with drilling/blasting for vertical rock shafts with a shaft depth of over 25 meters
- At least 5 years of experience in a leading role within the production method raise boring for vertical rock shafts
- Documented education in contract law
- Documented education in BAS P and BAS U (Safety Coordinators)
It is meritorious if you also meet the following requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in a leading role within the production method caisson shaft with drilling/blasting for vertical rock shafts with a shaft depth of over 25 meters, as well as the production method of raise boring for vertical rock shafts and rock reinforcement and grouting of these in urban areas
- At least 5 years of experience working with Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) in operation
- At least 5 years of experience working in English within mining, rock, and/or civil engineering operations

You are used to working independently with great responsibility and have an easy time building trust with both contractors and internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you have a strong focus on safety and quality and thrive in production-oriented environments.
