In this role, you will work for the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), a government agency responsible for Sweden's long-term infrastructure planning, as well as the operation and maintenance of state roads and railways. The agency works towards an accessible Sweden where people and businesses can travel and transport goods in a convenient, safe, and sustainable manner.
The assignment is located within the Ostlänken program, which involves the construction of a new approximately 250 km (16 miles) double-track railway between Järna and Linköping. The work is carried out from the Swedish Transport Administration's project offices in Solna/Sundbyberg, Nyköping, or Norrköping.
About the RoleThe Swedish Transport Administration is seeking a resource consultant as Project Manager for Program-Wide Production Coordination for the Ostlänken program. The assignment involves acting as a support to project managers and project directors regarding interfaces, logistics, material handling, and production planning.
The role is advisory and strategic, focusing on ensuring the program's progress, deliveries, and goal achievement regarding scope, time, costs, and quality. The assignment may also involve temporarily replacing or supporting project managers or project directors in various roles within the projects.
The assignment also includes transferring knowledge to employees at the Swedish Transport Administration regarding the tasks performed by the resource consultant.
Role and ResponsibilitiesAs the Project Manager for Program-Wide Production Coordination, you will, among other things:
- Contribute to the program achieving its goals regarding scope, time, costs, and quality.
- Ensure the program's progress and deliveries, taking into account the needs and priorities of project stakeholders.
- Support project managers and project directors in matters concerning interfaces, logistics, material handling, and production methods.
- Participate in decision-making regarding production planning, production monitoring, procurement strategies, and cost control.
- Prepare decision-making materials and clarify the scope and prerequisites of the projects.
- Ensure coordination of project activities and the projects' internal and external interfaces.
- Promote experience feedback and information exchange between projects.
- Work independently and collaboratively to guide the various parts of the program forward in necessary decisions.
- Contribute to innovation and development by challenging requirements and prerequisites.
We expect you to meet all the mandatory requirements listed below, which should be clearly reflected in your CV:
- A university or college education of at least 180 credits with a technical focus on civil engineering, or alternatively, other relevant education combined with experience deemed equivalent by the client.
- At least ten (10) years of recent work experience from the production phase with construction production, including production planning for railways.
- At least five (5) years of recent experience in supporting a client organization with issues regarding progress, production methods, and logistics.
- Good ability to write reports and deliver oral presentations in internal and external contexts.
- Good knowledge of relevant standard contracts AB, ABT, ABK, as well as AMA standards.
"Recent" experience is defined as:
- 10 of the last 15 years for the 10-year experience requirement.
- 5 of the last 10 years for the 5-year experience requirement.
Value-Added Requirement 1: It is an added value for the client if the offered resource has experience from development assignments and change management work that has resulted in savings for projects in the construction phase.
Value-Added Requirement 2: It is an added value for the client if the offered resource has worked on the development and implementation of innovations.
Value-Added Requirement 3: It is an added value for the client if the offered resource has the best possible understanding of the program's and the role's challenges and complexity, is self-reliant, solution-oriented, and has excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Assignment Information- Assignment Period: 2026-09-15 or earlier until 2028-09-15.
- Extension Option: 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 years.
- Scope: Approximately 80–100 %.
- Location: Solna/Sundbyberg, Nyköping, or Norrköping.
- Presence: As a starting point, work at the project office five days a week; some remote work may be approved.
- Travel in the role: Travel occurs, primarily to project offices in Södertälje, Nyköping, and Norrköping, approximately 4 times per month.
