Our Operations

The specialized palliative care at Akademiska sjukhuset is conducted within the Palliative Care Department, which consists of the Department of Specialized Home Care (ASH), the Specialized Palliative Care Ward (SPVA), the Palliative Consult Team (PKT), and the Palliative Clinic. ASH operates in both Uppsala and Tierp (North Upland) with the mission to provide specialized palliative home care. The ASH team cares for patients with various diagnoses and of different ages, and sometimes children who require specialized palliative care in their own homes or in special housing.

The position is based at the Palliative Centre and will primarily be located in North Upland, but there may also be assignments in Uppsala.

Your Role

As a nurse at ASH, you work in a multidisciplinary team with severely ill patients in their homes. You are primarily responsible for specific nursing care and specialized interventions such as advanced symptom relief, including infusions, injections, medication pumps, spinal pain relief, various drains, and support for next of kin.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse, preferably with a few years of experience. Further education in palliative care or experience in palliative care is meritorious but not a requirement. Personal suitability is highly valued. A valid B-class driver's license is required. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is mandatory.

Your Competencies

You can work independently, structured, and are flexible. We also appreciate that you have good teamwork skills, empathy, and are proactive.
