The Environmental and Public Health Administration is a supervisory authority within the municipal group. We play an important role in the municipality's delivery of welfare services and continued development. The operations cover supervision and advisory services as well as development within environmental and public health and food safety. We have approximately 30 employees organized into three units, and the experience among us is that we are proud of our pleasant workplace. In both big and small ways, we work according to the municipality's overarching vision that Varberg should be the creative hub of the west coast.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Today, we have approximately 20 employees at the Environmental and Public Health Administration working with supervision according to the Environmental Code, and we are now looking for another inspector to join the team. The position will primarily involve supervision within contaminated land and waste, but other areas within environmental code supervision may also become relevant.

For this position, our goal is to optimize the content of the tasks for environmental code supervision based on interest, competence, and the administration's needs. The work also involves informing and giving advice based on legislation, guiding, and supporting companies/business operators. The work is varied, and you have great opportunities to influence how the work is planned and carried out. We jointly make an annual distribution in connection with supervision planning where we try to create an attractive variation in tasks, as well as optimize the different aspects, although the administration's common needs take precedence. Tasks within food supervision may occur as needed and based on competence.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Environmental and Public Health education or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Experience of previously working as an Environmental and Public Health Inspector is meritorious.

For the position, in-depth knowledge and experience of authority work within the areas is meritorious. Good computer skills are also seen as an advantage. We work with the case management system Ecos. Since work at an authority places special demands, your personal qualities are valued highly. You should also be interested in working in a group and are therefore service-oriented and put the group before the self. But joy in work, flexibility, and a light touch for laughter are just as important.
