We are now looking for a Property Manager / Property Caretaker for a privately owned estate on Värmdö. This is a rare opportunity for you who want to take overall responsibility for a larger property with several buildings and machinery, while also being a key person when the owner's family is visiting.

What the role entails

This is not a traditional property caretaker position.

You are responsible for a comprehensive private estate with several buildings, grounds, a pier, boats, and technical systems. During approximately six to eight weeks per year in the summer, the owner's family stays on-site, and the role then also includes high-level hospitality and service. For the rest of the year, you plan and drive the work independently.

• Continuously responsible for operation, supervision, and maintenance of all buildings
• Perform minor repairs and practical maintenance (carpentry, painting, adjustments)
• Supervise land and forest – e.g., check fences, fallen trees, and general safety
• Responsible for and maintain machinery and equipment (tractor, lawnmower, etc.)
• Ensure that heating systems, water facilities, and technical installations function
• Coordinate and follow up on external suppliers, craftsmen, and projects
• Be helpful with practical arrangements when the family is on-site (boats, outdoor areas, preparations for events, etc.)
• Report weekly to the owners with updates and photos

A role with freedom and great trust

For approximately ten months of the year, you work very independently and structure your day-to-day life to ensure quality work. This requires structure, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to see what needs to be done on your own.

When the owner's family is on-site, you are the natural contact person in daily life.

Housing included – part of the whole

The position includes a separate residential house of approximately 90 sqm with two bedrooms, open kitchen/living room, sleeping loft, and bathroom.

Housing is included as part of the compensation, where you are expected to live there full-time as long as you hold this role (living on-site is a requirement for the role). The role suits both single individuals and those with a partner or small family; the most important thing is that the assignment has full focus and that you view the opportunity long-term.

We are looking for long-term commitment and will prioritize long-term engagements/employments in the recruitment process, as well as applying background checks as part of the process.

The estate is located on Värmdö, approximately 30 minutes by car to central Stockholm. A bus stop is within walking distance, but a car is an advantage.
