We are looking for a Construction Manager for Railway Signals within the ERTMS Hallsberg Area for Trafikverket (Swedish Transport Administration).

This is a consultancy assignment. The workplace is located in Hallsberg.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

We are seeking a Construction Manager for Railway Signals, ERTMS Hallsberg Area, for Trafikverket. The role involves leading and coordinating an assigned area/contract in collaboration with the contractor and under the direction of the client's project manager. The role includes responsibility for planning, quality assurance, and execution of the contract in accordance with the agreement, budget, regulatory requirements, and established plans, as well as monitoring technology, economy, time, quality, environment, and working environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide feedback on drawings and documentation, and inspect execution on-site.
• Ensure, together with the project manager, that the contract is executed according to the agreement, requirements, and plans.
• Monitor schedules, costs, orders, and forecasts for the final cost of the contract.
• Monitor technology, quality, environment, working environment, safety, and economy, and report status monthly.
• Monitor construction methods, construction plans, execution controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle deviations, changes, and additional work, as well as quantity deviations according to project procedures.
• Participate in design, technical solutions, and construction, economic, and other project meetings.
• Coordinate with designers, authorities, property owners, contractors, and external parties.
• Participate in the project's quality and environmental work and ensure the contractor's self-inspections.
• Monitor regulatory permits and participate in joint inspections, surveys, and final documentation.
• Coordinate with other technical disciplines and adjacent contracts.
• Maintain the project diary and monitor compliance with standards, infrastructure requirements, and regulations.
• Provide technical advice and knowledge transfer to the client's staff.

Requirements (Mandatory)

• Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Experience working in project groups where coordination was crucial.
• Valid B-class driver's license.
• At least 3 years of work experience as a construction manager or in a supervisory role such as production manager, site supervisor, site manager, or similar in construction/infrastructure projects within the relevant technical area (railway signal construction manager). The experience must not be older than 10 years.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, standards, and directives within the relevant area.
• Requirement of at least 5 years of work experience as a signal construction manager from railway projects.
• Requirement of at least 10 years of work experience in various types of signal work in the technical area, such as ATC, line block, level crossing protection, specific railway interlocking types, or signal equipment, etc.

Merits

• You have completed BAS-ÅSKYDD (Safety, Environment, and Work Environment in Construction) training.
• Hold a valid qualification as a Supervisor (TSM).
• You have worked for at least 2 years as a Signal Construction Manager within ERTMS.
• You have local knowledge of the Hallsberg Area.
