Qualified Teacher in Textile Crafts, Grades 4–9

IES Österåker opened in August 2024 and is a modern F–9 school with high ambitions. When the school is fully enrolled, we will have approximately 600 students distributed across two parallel classes per grade.

We follow the Swedish national curriculum, and up to 50 percent of the teaching is conducted in English. Our operations are characterized by clear structure, high academic expectations, and a secure study environment where both students and staff thrive and develop.

The school is centrally located in Åkersberga, in a combination of newly built and renovated facilities. With proximity to sports facilities, green areas, and the archipelago, we offer an inspiring work environment, approximately a 30-minute commute from Stockholm.

We are now looking for a qualified teacher in textile crafts for grades 4–9 who wants to make a difference every day.

As a teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, teaching, assessment, and follow-up in accordance with Lgr22. You actively work to develop students' creativity, problem-solving skills, and craft knowledge within textile techniques and creative processes.

You create an inspiring and secure learning environment where students have the opportunity to develop both independence and collaboration skills through practical and creative work.

The position also includes mentorship, where you play a central role in students' academic and social development. You maintain close contact with guardians and collaborate closely with colleagues, the student health team, and school leadership.

The position is 80% with a six-month probationary period. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. An extract from the criminal record register is mandatory upon employment.
