Job Description

Background and Assignment Description

A national operation with a nationwide telecommunications network based on optical fiber, expanded along the transmission network's lines from south to north. The network enables operation, control, and monitoring of critical infrastructure.

The organization is in an expansion phase with extensive investments and an increased number of station and line projects requiring reinforced resources.

The role of Telecommunications Project Manager is varied and involves working both operationally and tactically – from daily project management to long-term planning of future technical installations.

The tasks are both administrative and technical and include planning of optical fiber and IT installations at both a general and detailed level. The role entails overall responsibility for IT deliveries within construction and revision projects related to the expansion and renewal of the electricity transmission network, including the laying of optical fiber and hardware for telecommunications and data communication.

The role includes planning project activities within the area of responsibility, guiding contractors, coordinating technical personnel, and inspecting completed work.

The assignment concerns a resource reinforcement in an ongoing project, where the consultant contributes to the implementation and delivery of telecommunications and IT infrastructure in a construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in construction projects in the implementation phase with responsibility for the delivery of IT and telecommunications solutions according to schedule and technical documents
• Coordinate work between internal technical areas and external contractors
• Ensure and approve final documentation and updates in relevant systems
• Contribute competence and experience to support and develop the team's working methods
• Ensure that project deliveries follow technical requirements and quality standards

Requirements

1. University degree of 120p/180hp in telecom/IT technology, data and/or systems science and/or equivalent competence in the form of at least 10 years of work experience driving projects and project management within IT/telecom/optics and/or infrastructure acquired in a way that the client considers equivalent.
2. At least 5 years of work experience in having personally driven technically complex fiber and IT installation projects where e.g. reconstruction and new construction of optical networks affect operational critical IT systems, in a role as deputy project manager, project manager and/or equivalent.
3. At least 1 year of work experience working with IT deliveries for an electricity network owner in a role as deputy project manager, project manager and/or equivalent.
4. At least 1 year of work experience in having worked with design and/or expansion of optical networks in electricity networks with aerial fiber (OPGW or skywrap).
5. Category B driver's license.

Merits

1. In-depth knowledge in Contract Law, ABT and/or AB04 acquired through education and/or equivalent competence acquired through work experience that the client considers equivalent.
2. At least 3 years of work experience in having worked with the preparation of technical procurement documents and evaluated subsequent bids.
3. At least 1 year of work experience from security-sensitive operations.
4. At least 3 years of work experience in conducting inspections and surveys of optical facilities.
