Operations Technician for Water and Wastewater in Mullsjö Municipality

RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Operations Technician within Water and Wastewater (VA), you are responsible for the daily operation and supervision of the municipality's water and sewage facilities. The work includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency interventions to ensure a safe and reliable water supply.
The work is varied and combines practical field tasks with system control and documentation. Some tasks are performed in pairs, while others are carried out independently.
Examples of responsibilities:
- Operation, maintenance, and optimization of water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, pressure boosting stations, and pump stations.
- Sampling, measurement, and analysis of water quality according to current requirements.
- Rounds and functional checks of process equipment, pumps, valves, dosing systems, and control and monitoring systems (SCADA).
- Troubleshooting and measures in the event of operational disturbances in collaboration with colleagues and on-call duty.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and participate in the planning of reinvestments.
- Handling and documentation in digital operation and self-control systems.
- Participation in the operation and readiness organization, including on-call duty according to schedule.
- Contact with contractors, suppliers, and the public regarding service matters.
- Participation in development work for energy efficiency, digitalization, and process optimization.
The position is full-time with placement at the VA Operations Department. Regular working hours are during weekdays, but scheduled on-call duty may occur during evenings, nights, and weekends.
The position may be filled by one or two persons, depending on competence and the needs of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have:
- Education with a technical focus, preferably within water and wastewater technology, electrical, energy, mechanical, or operations technology.
- Experience working in water and wastewater operations, process industry, or similar technical environments.
- Basic knowledge of control and regulation technology, electrical/mechanical maintenance, or process monitoring.
- Good computer skills and the ability to work in digital operation and reporting systems.
- A valid B-driver's license is required, as the position may involve travel between different facilities.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience with operation or maintenance at water treatment or sewage treatment plants.
- Knowledge of sampling, water chemistry, and environmental legislation.
- Experience working with SCADA systems, pumps, and process equipment.
- Certificates or training in e.g., Hot Work, Work on Roads, Safe Electricity, or similar.
- Experience with on-call or readiness duty within technical operations.
